"I chose to study A-level Biology because I enjoy learning about the complex mechanisms within living organisms and how they function. I have found this course interesting because it covers a wide range of topics and practicals, and goes further in-depth into some of the more complicated and fascinating elements of biology covered in previous years. I am excited to be going on to study Medicine at university next year."
Chloe studied: Biology, Chemistry, Maths, EPQ
"Taking Applied Human Biology was one of the best decisions I made at St Brendan's. The coursework is a mixture of classwork and independent research, as well as practical investigations too. It does require a lot of work outside of college, but you'll always receive brilliant guidance from the teachers and the workload and deadlines are completely manageable. Next year I am going to study Primary Education at Bath Spa University."
Jack studied: Applied Human Biology, Psychology, Politics
"After St Brendan’s, I headed to Oxford University to study Medicine, I am currently in my second year.
The College's BioMed Group really helped me to broaden my interest in Medicine, and provided the basis for a lot of the wider reading that I later explored in my personal statement and interviews. St Brendan's also offered continuous support through both the personal statement and interview processes, which helped me receive four medical school offers.
In 10 years, I aspire to be working as a cardiologist, though I also wish to stay in touch with my academic background, potentially through medical research."
Ryan studied: Biology, Maths, Chemistry, English Language
