CAFOD Young Leaders

CAFOD stands for Catholic Agency for Overseas Development and is one of our college charities. It supports partner countries in the developing world offering aid and training to help create a sustainable future for those living in poverty and hardship. Our Young leaders programme is a course which is supported by CAFOD, and we meet in college every week as well as for training sessions run by CAFOD. It is a discussion based course, but also involves organising fundraising events and raising awareness of the charity within college. At the end of the year CAFOD award a certificate to participants who have successfully completed the course, and it looks really great on your CV or UCAS form to say you have been involved in this.

Sessions run on Monday at 1pm or Wednesday at 12.15. Come and try a taster session - no obligation!

College of Sanctuary

The City of Bristol has been designated as a City of Sanctuary which means it is welcoming to refugees. Our college has in turn been verified as a College of Sanctuary for the welcome and support it gives to refugees. In order to constantly review and improve on this, we have a College of Sanctuary group which meets regularly to discuss, plan and improve our provision. We also try to do some fundraising for refugee charities. In previous years our students have been invited to Bristol City Hall for training and to meet the mayor Marvin Rees.

We meet Thursday lunchtimes at 1pm.
