Dear Students, Parents and Carers,
Thank you to our Year 12 students who worked from home on Monday and Tuesday this week. We are pleased to have you back in college in the remaining few weeks of the summer term. Whilst our Year 12s worked from home, our Student Admissions team welcomed our new students who start their journey with us in September.
On Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th July, we will be hosting our Year 10 Discovery Days from our local feeder schools. Our Year 12 students will be in college on those days and therefore, we kindly ask that you are respectful to the Year 10s and role model positive behaviors. This includes wearing your lanyard at all times. The Year 10 students are bound to be nervous and it’s important that they have a positive experience with us at St Brendan’s as they start to consider their post-16 options.
Our Access to Level 3 students will be completing work placements next week, we wish them well and look forward to hearing about their experience when they return to college during transition week on 11-15th July.
Kind regards
Alexandra Moruzzi
Vice Principal
As from next Monday the LRC will be displaying posters to celebrate the winning entries of this year´s Creative Writing competition. We are so proud of all of the entries, all of the pieces are amazing and definitely well worth a read! Head up to the LRC next week to take a look for yourself.
Students are now invited to apply for a bursary for the new academic year. The household earnings threshold remains at £27,000 for this year however, if you are planning to take the college coach, we will be able to offer a contribution towards costs for household earnings of up to £55,000.
If you received a bursary this year it will stop at the end of term and you will need to reapply for the new year. For your bursary to start at the beginning of the new term you must apply by Sunday 10th July 2022. Applications received after this date will not be in place for the start of term and cannot be backdated so you could be waiting until October for your bursary to start. In August and September, we will give priority to the new student applications so apply now to make sure you don’t miss out!
Check the college website for more information about bursary.
Applications must be completed online via PayMyStudent. This will work on your computer, tablet or mobile.

We will be in touch with our Year 13 students about Results Day which this year is on Thursday 18th August. As many of you already know the UCAS track will open at 8:30am on Results Day. Staff will be available in College to offer career and progression-related advice and guidance as well as pastoral and wellbeing support. We will be sending you more information next term.
Our Year 13 students will still be able to access their emails and are welcomed onsite if you require any career or pastoral support along with using the LRC facilities for revision or if you'd like to speak to your tutor. Please note that coming into college will only be for these purposes and not to socialise with friends.
