14th October 2022

Welcome!

Dear Students, Parents and Carers,

It's been a busy term for all. Well done to all of our students for making such a positive start to the new academic year.

Thank you to all of the amazing Student Ambassadors who helped out at last night's Open Evening, you all did a brilliant job and made our visitors feel very welcome.

There have been some fantastic things happening at college in this last week of term including Restart a Heart training, Culture Day and fund raising for Young Minds on Hello Yellow day - visit any of our social media pages if you would like to find out more.

On behalf of all the staff at St Brendan's Sixth Form College I would like to wish you all a happy half term!

Marian Curran

Vaping

Vaping Areas

With effect from 31st October (after half term) students will not be permitted to vape past the top of the driveway from the pedestrian crossing or in / near to any college buildings including the space behind Café Max. This is in response to feedback from staff and students regarding the health concerns of anyone in or around students who are vaping, particularly when trying to access entrances to buildings. Students will be reminded by staff whenever we see vaping taking place outside that the rules have changed and reiterate those changes to them. This change will take time to reinforce but with consistent and clear messaging from all colleagues, we will be implementing this change. Signage will be put up to reinforce the message also.

We understand that for many of our parents and carers, English may not be their first language. We want to ensure everyone is able to access key College information and communication and so would be grateful if you could tell us which language you may require College information translated into. We will then collate this information to see where we can provide translated documents.
