Dear Students, Parents and Carers,
This week was the final week of examinations for our Year 13 students. We will look forward to celebrating with them when they pick up their results on Thursday 18th August.
A big thank you to our Year 12 students for their participation in their Future Progression Day on Wednesday. A huge amount of preparation went into this event by our Careers team - we would also like to say a massive thank you to them and to our Premises team who ensured that the event on went smoothly and to all other staff who worked really hard to make the day a great success for our students.
We also celebrated the work of our BTEC Performing Arts Diploma, A level Dance, BTEC acting and BTEC Musical Performance students this week through an evening of a variety of performances which showcased the great talents of our students.
Kind regards
Marian Curran
Principal
On the 27th and 28th June we will be welcoming our new students to College to support them in preparing for their enrolment at the College. This means that our Year 12 students will be working from home for the two days, accessing work set by their teachers on MS Teams. The work set will be in line with the planned teaching so it is important that you access and complete the work in order that your teachers are ready to welcome you back from Wednesday 29th onwards.
If you have any issues with the work then you can email your teachers, or post a message on your class Teams page, and your teachers will get back to you with the support and advice you need.
As from next Monday the LRC will be displaying posters to celebrate the winning entries of this year´s Creative Writing competition.
These creative pieces are amazing and definitely well worth a read! Head up to the library next week to get a look for yourself.
Students are invited to apply for a bursary for the new academic year. The household earnings threshold remains at £27,000 for this year however if you are planning to take the college coach, we will be able to offer a contribution towards costs for household earnings of up to £55,000.
If you received a bursary this year it will stop at the end of term and you will need to reapply for the new year. For your bursary to start at the beginning of the new term you must apply by Sunday 10th July 2022. Applications received after this date will not be in place for the start of term and cannot be backdated so you could be waiting until October for your bursary to start. In August and September, we will give priority to new student applications so apply now to make sure you don’t miss out.
Check the college website for information about bursary.
Applications are online via PayMyStudent. This will work on your computer, tablet or mobile.

The National Art Exhibition for Sixth Form College students.
We are delighted to see our students' art featured in the Sixth Form College Association Art Exhibition 2022. This year’s theme is Planet Future which showcases students’ creative interpretation of the theme, and their reflections on how the world is changing and what the future holds.

We will be in touch with our Year 13 students about Results Day which this year is on Thursday 18th August. As many of you already know the UCAS track will open at 8:30am on Results Day. Staff will be available in College to offer career and progression-related advice and guidance as well as pastoral and wellbeing support. We will be sending you more information next term.
Our Year 13 students will still be able to access their emails and are welcomed onsite if you require any career or pastoral support along with using the LRC facilities for revision or if you'd like to speak to your tutor. Please note that coming into college will only be for these purposes and not to socialise with friends.
