TERM 6 VALUE: Truth
Dear Students, Parents, Carers,
As we approach the end of another academic year, I want to thank all of our students who have volunteered their time to represent St Brendan's.
Whether it was helping at Welcome Fest, serving as one of our student ambassadors at Open Events, or supporting numerous fundraising activities throughout the year, your efforts have been truly invaluable. Thank you for being brilliant! Thank you also to our parents and carers for their support through the year.
Well done to all our Year 13 students who have now completed their exams! We look forward to celebrating with you at Results Day on Thursday 15th August.
A reminder that the start of the new academic year for new Year 13 students will begin on Wednesday 4th September.
In the meantime, we hope you enjoy your last week of College for this academic year!
Marian Curran
Principal
We are currently in the process of updating some of our information systems at the College in in particular where you can see timetable, attendance and progress. Students will receive updates via email on how to access these – with Year 13 timetables being released via the new platform during July.
As of Monday, all Students and Parents will access timetables, attendance and reports via ProPortal. You will no longer need to look in to two different systems for information.
For Year 12 students – we are working on your Year 13 timetables and will send instruction on how to access these over the next couple of weeks.
Instructions will be sent to students on how to view their timetable in ProPortal in the coming days.
Room B122 is open for studying (anything, not just maths!) with support on hand from Kathy Anderson.
Whether you are moving on from Year 12 to Year 13, or ATL3 to Year 12, you are welcome to drop in any time.
B122 is now the Open Study room to the end of the academic year. The timetable of availability is attached here and it will be also printed and stuck to the door for you to view too.
Do come along and boost your grades up! 😊
We have written out to all existing coach users to advise them that the coach service run by Turners will be finishing at the end of this academic year.
We are happy to announce details of a range of direct First Bus services to College starting in September 2024. For most of the Turners routes now in operation, there will be an alternative SB bus running from September. We are also delighted to introduce a new route covering parts of South Bristol and Easton.
St Brendan's is seeking sponsors to support our sports and health enrichment activities! We have several exciting opportunities where your contribution can make a real difference to our students and College:
We are open to any ideas — no offer is too big or small! In return, we will offer media coverage across all our social platforms and much more. Partner with us to foster a healthier, more active community!

As we near the end of the second year of our Oracy journey we are keen to ask students to complete this survey once again in order that we can measure our progress and indeed ensure our thoughts for the next phase of our strategic plan are correct and meet student need.
It will take you no more than 10 minutes to complete and will really help to influence our work over next year as we become a centre of excellence.
A reminder to all students, parents and carers to please turn right only, when exiting the College between 15:50 – 16:20 at the end of the College day.
Please see the letter attached here for directions back to the A4, if needed.
Please click here to access 2024 Summer Term Webinars Information for Parents and Carers that want to learn how to best support their young person.
Please return or renew your library books
If you have borrowed library books, remember that loan periods last for two weeks. After you've had a book for two weeks you need to return it, but if you need it for longer you can renew it. You can do this on the library catalogue (access from the Student Portal), or in the LRC.
Borrowing books over the Summer period
All Year 12 students can borrow books over the Summer period. All books issued on or after 17th of June will be due back on the first day of the September term.
Head over to the Careers News page for lots of useful resources and opportunities.
The Chapel is open every day for quiet reflection.
You can find the Chaplaincy team in room B209, all faiths & no faiths are welcome!
There are lots of enrichment activities that you can get involved in via the Chaplaincy, read more about these here.
